Well, yeah...this was a week.
On Sunday night, my stomach was hurting so much, it woke me up from a dead sleep. Now, i have an ulcer, so i thought it was my ulcer, have had the pain a few times in the middle of the summer...and oh, i know i have an ulcer. So....i woke up at about 11.00pm and by 1.30 pm, the pain was so intense, i knew it was time to wake up my husband. Crawled into our bedroom, woke up tim and after a few seconds, we both agreed, ER time.
So there we were, in the ER...and by this time, i was sobbing in pain and vomiting. After several tests, it was learned i had gall stones and one was caught in a duct and had to be carefully removed, so i was transferred to UVA. They also discovered my body was fighting an infection.
First surgery was done and they came back, my gall bladder was in very bad shape and had to go. That was removed next. At the same time, i was hooked up to an IV that was pumping me full of antibiotics. I kept getting severe migraines, when Jenn asked if they were giving me the medicine i take as a preventative...uh, no. I had five days worth of migraines for nothing, it was on my chart, just not given to me. It was a crazy time.
Oh, and my veins kept blowing.
The worst part of it, was having nurses come into my room, stinking of perfume. It makes me very sick and they were getting annoyed when i kicked them out. I know from several close nurses, that is not allowed. I will be calling up about that. There is no need for that type of smell. One had on such cheap crap, one nurse thought it was the cleaning solution.
Now i am home after missing a whole week of work..and an entire week with my boys. They do appreciate me more, let's see how that lasts. I keep running a fever, don't think that is a good thing, i can break it with Tylenol, but don't think it should be 101.6 after tylenol. I had to take a double dose to break it.
Back to making cards...and i have to get the wedding pictures to the Popes tomorrow.
Happy time.
Sharon
